Digital Citizenship

Forcesome Four has been looking at Digital Citizenship and how we can be good digital citizens. We used our research cycle to investigate further.

P = Pick a Topic

DIGITAL CITIZENSHIP

L = List what you already know

Here are our initial ideas about what it could be...

A = Ask a question

WHAT IS DIGITAL CITIZENSHIP?

N = New Learning

We watched this video on internet safety

We had a class discussion about how we can keep ourselves and others safe, happy and healthy when using digital technology at home and at school.

S = Share

We used an app called Padlet to record our ideas.

**From all our new learning here is our class treaty for being good digital citizens for ourselves and those around us. You will get a copy for home too so you to talk about your home rules.

Foursome Four Rules for Digital Citizenship

  • I will not give out personal information such as my address, telephone number, parent’s work address/telephone number without my parents’ permission.

  • I will tell my parents or teacher right away if I find something that makes me feel uncomfortable.

  • I will be a good online citizen and leave only positive messages and feedback.

  • I will talk with my parents so that we can set up rules for going online and using a mobile phone so that I have time to play and build my imagination and a healthy body.

  • I will not give out my passwords to anyone (even my best friends) other than my parents.
  • I will log out of my account when I have finished.

  • I will keep my device safe when I am not using it (off the floor or hidden).

  • I will type ‘for kids’ when I am looking for websites to help me research. And I will make sure my parents or teacher knows what websites I am looking at and what I am doing on the device I am on.

  • I will help my parents understand how to have fun and learn things online and teach them things about the Internet, computers and other technology.
